Wausau Winter Triathlon
The Wausau Winter Triathlon is a unique sprint-style event that combines Nordic skiing, fat biking, and snowshoe running. Participants can choose between solo or relay formats, with options for skate or classic skiing. The triathlon takes place in the scenic Nine Mile County Forest, featuring approximately 10k of skiing, 15k of biking, and a 5k snowshoe run.
Helmets and specific bike tire requirements are enforced for safety. The event also supports local cycling initiatives, with profits benefiting the Central Wisconsin Offroad Cycling Coalition. Post-race refreshments, including soup and hot chocolate, are provided for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
