The Georgia Death Race
The Georgia Death Race is a challenging 74-mile trail running event held in Blairsville, Georgia, starting at Byron Herbert Reece Farm and ending at Amicalola Falls State Park. Participants must carry a 1-pound railroad spike throughout the race, which symbolizes their journey. With a total elevation gain and loss of 16,000 feet, the race is known for its difficulty and has been dubbed the "craziest and most fun race East of the Rockies." Only about 60% of participants complete the race, making it a sought-after ultra marathon on the East Coast.
Registration for the event is highly competitive and often sells out quickly. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
