Tackle The Tar

The Tackle the Tar is an exciting 5K Obstacle Course Race scheduled for May 17, 2025, at the Rocky Mount Sports Complex. Organized by the Rotary Club of Rocky Mount, this event features a challenging course that includes over 20 obstacles, such as a mud pit and various climbing challenges, set against the backdrop of historic Battle Park. The event also includes a Kid's 1-mile fun run.

Proceeds from the race support college scholarships for local students, with over $510,000 raised since 2016. Participants receive a T-shirt, medal, and goodie bag, while spectators can enjoy the festivities for free. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
