Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon

Website Facebook

The Pikes Peak Ascent and Marathon is a renowned running event held annually in Manitou Springs, Colorado. Established in 1956, the Marathon is the oldest continuously held marathon in the U.S., featuring a challenging course that ascends to the summit of Pikes Peak at 14,115 feet and back down, covering a total of 26.2 miles. The Ascent, a separate event since the 1980s, consists of a 13.3-mile climb to the summit.

Both races tackle approximately 7,800 vertical feet along the historic Barr Trail, presenting a unique challenge for runners due to the high altitude and steep terrain. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
