The Pikes Peak Marathon, established in 1956, is the oldest continuously held marathon in the United States, featuring a challenging course that ascends from Manitou Springs, Colorado, to the summit of Pikes Peak at 14,115 feet and back, totaling 26.2 miles. This iconic race, along with its counterpart, the Pikes Peak Ascent, which climbs 13.3 miles to the summit, presents significant elevation gains of approximately 7,800 feet. The event is celebrated for its breathtaking views and rigorous terrain, attracting runners from around the world.
