Med Bow Rail Marathon and Half Marathon

The Med Bow Rail Marathon and Half Marathon, organized by the Friends of the Medicine Bow Rail Trail, will take place on August 9, 2025. This event features a marathon course that spans the scenic Medicine Bow Rail Trail, averaging an elevation of 8,926 feet, and briefly crosses into Colorado. The half marathon consists of two loops around Lake Owen, along with sections of the Rail Trail.

Both races are designed to promote trail use and support its maintenance, with proceeds funding trail upkeep. Participants receive race souvenirs, and finishers are awarded medals.
