Judy M. Merritt Memorial 5K

The Judy M. Merritt Memorial 5K & Family Fun Day is an annual event held to honor the legacy of Dr. Judy M.

Merritt, the first female president of an Alabama college. Scheduled for March 15, 2025, at Hoover's Veterans Park in Birmingham, AL, the event features a 5K run, a "Sleep In 5K" virtual challenge, and various family-friendly activities such as free treats, a DJ, inflatables, and face painting. Proceeds from the race support scholarships for Jefferson State Community College students in need.
