Crystal Lake Aquathon

The Crystal Lake Aquathon, taking place on July 20, 2025, at Three Oaks Recreation Area in Crystal Lake, IL, is the only aquathon event in Illinois. This annual competition features various timed races, including a Sprint Distance (500m swim, 5k run), Olympic Distance (1 mile swim, 10k run), and a 2-mile swim. A special Kids' Race is also available for ages 7-12, along with an Adaptive Race for participants needing assistance.

Proceeds from the event benefit Girls on the Run of Northwest Illinois, and all racers will receive finisher medals. The event promises a post-race celebration with food and awards for top finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
