Captain Fleming's Gator Fun Run
Captain Fleming's Second Annual Gator Fun Run is a unique 5K event taking place at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium. This fun run commemorates a historical incident involving Captain Charles R. Fleming and an escaped alligator in the early 1920s.
Participants can enjoy a scenic route through the zoo, with a $50 donation granting access to the race, a t-shirt, and all-day entry to the zoo. Proceeds benefit the Omaha Firefighters Historical Society and the Omaha Fire Union’s Meet the Need program, supporting community needs. Spectators can also attend, with tickets available at the zoo's entrance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
