Blue Heron Hundreds

The Blue Heron Hundreds is a premier running event in North Alabama, featuring distances of 100 miles, 100K, 40 miles, and a marathon, set against the scenic backdrop of the Wheeler Wildlife Refuge. Established in 1938, the refuge is a vital habitat for migratory birds, including the great blue heron. Participants will navigate soft crushed gravel and dirt roads, with a 20-mile loop serving as the course foundation.
