Black Squirrel 5K Walk/Run

The 2025 13th Annual Black Squirrel 5K Walk/Run and 1-Mile Walk/Roll/Run will take place at Kent State University on April 12, 2025. This event, inspired by the university's unofficial mascot, welcomes participants of all ages and abilities. The 5K course is a scenic loop that starts and ends near the Beverly J.

Warren Student Recreation and Wellness Center, featuring a few small hills and the chance to spot the famous black squirrels. Registration fees vary, with T-shirts included for early registrants.
